The Punjab government is transforming public transport in Jhelum. Residents will now enjoy modern and comfortable travel facilities through a new fleet of electric buses. The electric bus service initiative aims to promote eco-friendly transport while ensuring affordable, safe, and reliable commuting options across the district.
Following a formal inauguration, the service will immediately begin operations on designated routes.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has issued special instructions regarding the service schedule. Consequently, the electric buses will operate daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The administration selected these extended hours specifically to facilitate students and the general public. This ensures that students have reliable transport for their morning classes and evening activities.
The service covers three major routes connecting key areas of the city.
1st Route: Fauji Foundation to Government Technical College
2nd Route: Fauji Foundation to Mangla (via AC Office Dina)
3rd Route: Fauji Foundation to Sanghoi
This electric bus service marks a major step toward sustainable urban transport in Punjab. Furthermore, the buses feature onboard comforts for a better passenger experience. Jhelum residents can now look forward to cleaner, quieter, and more efficient travel.
