Facebook’s standalone Events app, which launched last year on iOS, is now coming to Android devices.
Facebook’s Events app provides a standalone interface to browse nearby events, see the dates of your upcoming events and import events from calendars. It also aggregates wall posts and alerts from your Events to make it easier to keep track of changes and updates.
Events app, although targeting a popular function of Facebook, has failed to make its mark on iOS users. App usage statistics show that more people prefer to keep track of their events through the main Facebook app itself. This release on Android devices seems to be an effort by Facebook to make another attempt of separating yet another feature from its main app.
The app will soon roll out to Play store for users across the globe. We will update this article with a download link when it becomes available for users in Pakistan.
