Star Pakistani batter Sahibzada Farhan struck a rapid century, his second of the T20 World Cup 2026, helping Pakistan post 212 runs against Sri Lanka in the Super Eight match at Pallekele.

Farhan became only the second player after Chris Gayle to score two centuries in T20 World Cups, showcasing aggressive strokeplay while wickets continued to fall steadily at the other end throughout the innings.

The Men in Green suffered repeated collapses as Shadab Khan was run out attempting a non-existent second run, while Mohammad Nawaz fell for a first-ball duck, caught off Shanaka at extra cover.

Captain Salman Ali Agha added to Pakistan’s woes, falling for a two-ball duck at number six, but the team maintained composure to cross the 200-run mark despite Sri Lanka slowing the scoring.

Earlier in the match, the right-handed hard-hitter set a new record for the most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition, surpassing all previous individual achievements for a Pakistani batter.

He overtook former India captain Virat Kohli’s 2014 record of 319 runs, compiling 323 runs in this tournament so far and establishing himself as the leading run-scorer of the ongoing edition.
