ISLAMABAD: FAST National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (FAST NUCES) has officially joined the Mitacs Internship 2025 program, opening doors for its students to participate in fully funded research opportunities across Canada.
The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a 12-week program that pairs top international students with faculty at Canadian universities, providing hands-on research opportunities. The internship, known for its comprehensive support, offers several benefits, including:
- $1,500 airfare subsidy for travel expenses.
- $175 transportation stipend for airport to accommodation costs.
- $200 weekly living stipend for the 12-week research period.
- $350 weekly housing allowance to cover accommodation.
- Coverage of student or administrative fees at Canadian host institutions.
- Reimbursement for immigration document fees to simplify the visa process.
- Comprehensive Canadian medical insurance throughout the internship.
Applications for the new cohort will commence in August, with an online process designed to simplify access for eligible students. As part of the Mitacs Internship 2025, participants will not only gain research exposure but also enhance their prospects for future academic and professional opportunities in Canada and beyond.
The addition of FAST NUCES to the Mitacs Internship 2025 marks a significant milestone for Pakistani students aspiring to gain global research experience. Previously, only seven Pakistani universities were part of the initiative, which is known for its comprehensive support to international students.
Pakistani universities already part of the initiative include COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), University of the Punjab, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, University of Peshawar, and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS).
