FBR Launches AI-Powered Digital Assistant for Taxpayers

In a major step toward digital transformation and taxpayer facilitation, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched its first AI-enabled Digital Assistant (Chatbot) to provide instant help and guidance to taxpayers. The AI chatbot, now live at chat.fbr.gov.pk, is designed to answer common queries, offer general information, and streamline communication between taxpayers and the FBR.

According to FBR, this is the first public beta release of the system, developed to enhance accessibility and user experience through artificial intelligence. The initiative reflects the FBR’s broader commitment to modernizing its services and leveraging technology for improved taxpayer convenience.

An FBR spokesperson stated,

“The AI Chatbot marks a new chapter in digital facilitation, allowing users to access key tax information anytime, anywhere.” The project aligns with the government’s vision for e-governance and digital public service delivery.

By integrating artificial intelligence into its platform, the FBR aims to reduce response times, minimize errors, and make tax-related processes simpler for individuals and businesses alike. The chatbot currently provides general assistance, with advanced features and personalized support expected in upcoming updates.
