The federal education ministry has rolled out a series of digital reforms, including a centralized e-admission system, online verification services, and sector-wide transparency measures, aimed at improving merit, efficiency, and student services.
Minister of State for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MOFEPT), Ms. Wajiha Qamar, on Tuesday held a live press conference outlining comprehensive measures and digital reforms implemented across the education sector to strengthen accountability, merit, and public trust.
As a part of these reforms, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has launched its first ever centralized e-Admission Portal for BS programs in the Islamabad Capital Territory. The new system ensures that admissions are transparent, efficient, and merit-based, reducing the time and effort required by students and parents.
Similarly, the IBCC One-Window Online Platform now provides end-to-end digital services for attestation, equivalence, and verification, with QR-based verification, online tracking, and doorstep delivery, significantly reducing time, cost, and inconvenience.
“Ensuring the quality of students’ education is extremely important,” said Ms. Wajiha Qamar.
This development follows similar tech-driven initiatives across the education sector, including NAVTTC trainings and HEC’s Maktab ERP, highlighting the government’s consistent focus on merit and efficiency.
These measures signal a shift toward more open and accountable governance in education. While their impact will be seen over time, digitization has the potential to bring greater clarity and fairness to how institutions operate.
