The Pakistan cricket team exited the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 without reaching the semi-finals, but returned home with substantial financial rewards for performance during the early tournament stages.

The national squad progressed to the Super Eight stage of the 20-team mega event, earning $450,000 for victories and strong performances in the group stage and one game Super Eight stage.

In addition to performance-based winnings, Pakistan received a participation bonus of $300,000, bringing the total financial reward to $750,000, reflecting both engagement and success in the event.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board fined each player 50 lakh rupees following their disappointing performance, emphasizing accountability and making clear that repeated failures in major international tournaments would not be tolerated.

Officials informed players that future rewards would depend entirely on performance, warning that leniency had ended and underperformance, including the loss to India, would directly affect financial and professional standing significantly.

The PCB publicly expressed strong displeasure over the team’s results, imposing fines and making clear that financial penalties would apply to any unsatisfactory performance in major international competitions moving forward.

Currently, A-category players receiving 45 lakh rupees per month plus an ICC share of 20 lakh 70 thousand rupees as an additional incentive.

B-category players earn 30 lakh rupees per month along with an ICC share of 15 lakh 52 thousand 500 rupees, ensuring all athletes have financial motivation linked directly to performance and team success consistently.
