FIR Filed Against TikToker Over Viral Video Mocking Punjab Police Uniform

LAHORE: An FIR has been officially filed against controversial TikToker Kashif Zameer under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), following the release of a viral video that allegedly mocks the Punjab Police uniform. The Kashif Zameer FIR has drawn widespread attention as it implicates both the social media personality and multiple police officers.
The video, which quickly gained traction online, features a man in a police uniform during a wedding celebration. In the clip, the person is seen presenting a tray full of currency notes to Kashif Zameer who later tosses the notes over guests—an act deemed disrespectful to the honor of the Punjab Police. According to the FIR, this behavior undermines the dignity and symbolic value of the uniform.
Adding to the controversy, Zameer reportedly edited the video using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to change the color of the police uniforms worn by real officers. This digital manipulation has raised further concerns over misrepresentation and the misuse of official emblems for entertainment purposes.
The Kashif Zameer FIR also highlights a disturbing pattern of alleged influence and exploitation. Reports suggest Zameer had long-standing connections within the police force, which he allegedly used to recruit officers for personal gigs—some reportedly earning as little as Rs5,000 per day for their involvement in such events.
Authorities have responded strongly, registering the FIR under multiple PECA provisions that deal with electronic crime and digital impersonation. Legal experts believe the charges could set a precedent for addressing how social media influencers use digital tools and state symbols.
This case has not only triggered public outrage but also renewed debates about the ethical responsibilities of content creators and the vulnerabilities within law enforcement. As investigations progress, both Zameer and the involved officers may face serious legal consequences aimed at restoring public trust in uniformed institutions.
