In his new role, Rashid Latif plans to create a comprehensive player pathway starting from grassroots programs.
“My goal is to turn raw talent into professional players ready to perform for Team Rawalpindi,” he said. “We will start with a strong talent nursery, strengthen school cricket programs, and invest in long-term cricket infrastructure.”
He stressed that understanding modern cricket and fostering consistent growth will be key to creating a sustainable talent pipeline. Rashid Latif will oversee these initiatives, ensuring that Rawalpindi remains competitive for years to come.
The Rawalpindi franchise is the latest entrant in the PSL, following Walee Technologies’ record purchase of the Multan Sultans franchise for Rs. 245 crore. The team has been relocated and rebranded, ending Multan’s tenure and giving the twin cities their own franchise.
The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will serve as the home ground, with Mohammad Rizwan expected to captain the side during its debut season. The PSL’s 2026 campaign starts on March 26 and features an expanded eight-team format, including the newly added Sialkot Stallionz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.
