: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has finalized and issued the official date sheet for the CSS Competitive Examination 2026, confirming that the written exams will commence from February 4, 2026. The announcement provides much-needed clarity to thousands of aspirants preparing for one of Pakistan’s most competitive examinations.
According to FPSC, the English Essay paper will be conducted on the first day, February 4, followed by Precis & Composition on February 5. Papers of General Knowledge, including General Science & Ability, Current Affairs, and Pakistan Affairs, will take place from February 6 to February 8.
The Islamic Studies paper, or Comparative Study of Religions for non-Muslim candidates, is scheduled for February 9. Examinations for optional subjects will run from February 10 to February 15, 2026, held in morning and evening sessions under different subject groups.
The CSS examination is conducted annually by FPSC to recruit officers for key posts in Pakistan’s civil services. Each year, thousands of candidates appear in the exam, but only a small percentage qualify for allocation, making timely preparation and adherence to the official schedule crucial.
An FPSC official emphasized, “Candidates are advised to prepare strictly according to the date sheet and carefully follow instructions related to roll number slips and examination centers to avoid any inconvenience.”
FPSC has urged candidates to regularly check its official website for updates regarding roll number slips, exam centers, and instructions. Any lapse in compliance with guidelines may result in complications on exam days.
