Gemini on Google TV

Google used the CES stage today to reveal new Gemini upgrades designed specifically for Google TV. The update focuses on making TV interaction more visual, more personal, and far easier to control. Google says the features will launch first on select TCL TVs, with more Google TV devices receiving them over the coming months.

One of the biggest changes is how Gemini works with Google Photos. Users will be able to search their photo library by people, places, or moments directly from the TV. Gemini can then apply artistic effects using Photos Remix or turn memories into cinematic-style slideshows within seconds. This brings personal content into the living room in a more engaging way.

Google TV's Gemini is Getting a Major Intelligence Upgrade

Gemini will also improve how information appears on screen. When users ask questions, responses can include images, videos, and live sports updates. For more detailed subjects, Gemini will offer deep dives that deliver narrated and interactive explanations. Google says these overviews are simplified so the whole family can follow along easily.

Creative tools are also expanding on Google TV. With Nano Banana and Veo, users can reimagine personal photos using the AI editor. They can also generate original images and videos directly on the TV if they want to experiment beyond watching content.

Finally, Google is simplifying TV controls through natural language. Instead of opening menus, users can speak normally. Phrases like “the screen is too dim” or “the dialogue is lost” will prompt Gemini to adjust the right settings automatically. This lets viewers stay focused on their movie or show without interruptions.
