The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) has announced a new graduate assistantship program for students enrolled in its MS and PhD degree programs, offering monthly stipends of up to Rs. 158,000.
The initiative is designed to support outstanding researchers by providing financial assistance along with academic benefits across a wide range of engineering and technology disciplines.
Monthly Stipends for MS and PhD Students
Under the newly introduced assistantship scheme:
- PhD students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 158,000.
- MS students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 88,000.
In addition to the stipend, selected students will also be provided:
- Free tuition
- Free hostel accommodation
Assistantships Available Across Multiple Programs
The graduate assistantships are open to students admitted to all MS and PhD programs at GIKI, including:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Engineering Management
- Engineering Sciences
- Materials Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering
GIKI has stated that all submitted and in-progress applications will automatically be considered for the new assistantship program. Interested applicants can apply until July 31, 2026.
The institute hopes the initiative will attract talented students and strengthen advanced research in engineering, technology, and innovation.
