Google AI Classroom Empowers Educators to Create Quiz Questions in Seconds

Google Classroom has launched a new AI-driven feature designed to streamline the process of creating quiz and test questions for educators. Announced on Monday, the new tool uses Gemini, Google’s AI platform, to help teachers generate text-dependent questions based on input content.

Educators can either upload files from Google Drive or manually input text, which the AI will analyze to create a list of relevant questions. The tool enables teachers to determine the grade level along with the question number and question type between multiple- choice and open-ended options. The system enables educators to select specific skills that students must exhibit, such as the ability to evaluate arguments or comprehend figurative language.

Teachers may proceed with the exportation of questions into either Google Doc or Google Form for distribution purposes after they have been generated. The new tool enhances the efficacy of assessment development by enabling educators to create assessments that align with their learning objectives and promote critical thinking.

This enhancement is a component of Google’s broader initiative to integrate AI capabilities into educational services. During the initial months of this year, Google introduced a corresponding application for the construction of vocabulary lists. The most recent addition allows educators to generate examinations, assignments, and assessment materials to track the academic growth and knowledge acquisition of their students.

However, only Google Workspace for Education users with a Gemini Education add-on have access to the new question generation feature. The Gemini Education add-on costs $24 per user, while the premium version is priced at $36 per user.
