Google has appointed Farhan Qureshi as its new regional director for business and operations across Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Frontier Markets, marking a significant leadership shift in some of its fastest-growing regions. Qureshi, who most recently served as Google Malaysia’s country director, will now oversee strategy, partnerships, and commercial growth across multiple Asian markets.
Qureshi is widely recognized in the advertising and media industries, with a career spanning over two decades across the United States, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. His background includes senior leadership roles at major global media agencies such as Starcom and MediaCom, where he helped shape communication strategies for major brands.
Before joining Google, he worked at Millward Brown in the United States, where he contributed to communication research for several Fortune 500 companies, including Coca-Cola, Pfizer, American Express, and IBM. His experience in developing integrated marketing communications has earned him multiple industry awards in Pakistan, highlighting his reputation as one of the region’s most accomplished media strategists.
Google’s decision comes as part of a broader reshuffling of leadership within Southeast Asia and South Asia. Alongside Qureshi’s appointment, Google recently named Ben King as managing director for Malaysia and Singapore. Earlier this month, the company also appointed Prep Palacios as country director for the Philippines and Rafael Scislowski as country director for Thailand.
The coordinated set of changes signals Google’s intention to strengthen its regional presence and accelerate growth in markets that are becoming increasingly influential in digital adoption and advertising.
