Google announced today the launch of its AI Professional Certificate in Pakistan, a new industry-validated credential designed to equip working professionals with the practical ability to use artificial intelligence in their daily jobs. The program, available now on Coursera, moves beyond foundational AI theory and focuses instead on hands-on fluency across tools most professionals already use, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gemini.
The launch comes as new research from Ipsos and Google highlights a widening disconnect between employer expectations and actual workforce preparedness. The study found that 70% of managers consider an AI-trained workforce vital for business success, yet only 14% of workers report having been offered any AI training at all. Google says the certificate is designed to bridge that divide directly.
The program consists of six courses and a final capstone project, all delivered by Google experts and AI practitioners.
The curriculum covers AI fundamentals and prompting, brainstorming and project planning with AI, research and insights using tools like Deep Research and NotebookLM, writing and communication, content creation including visual assets and video, and data analysis using Gemini in Google Sheets. The capstone teaches what Google calls “vibe coding,” guiding learners to build custom functional applications without writing any code.
Enrollment includes three months of free access to Google AI Pro, giving participants direct experience with Google’s most advanced models within the tools covered in the coursework. Each of the seven modules awards a shareable digital certificate that can be posted to LinkedIn individually, allowing learners to demonstrate progress incrementally rather than waiting until full completion.
Google says the entire program can be completed at the learner’s own pace in under 10 hours, making it accessible to busy professionals. The curriculum was developed using real-world job data and validated by employers to ensure the skills taught, including content creation, data synthesis, and workflow automation, align with current market demand.
The certificate is available for enrollment here.
