Google’s Gemini AI feature, Nano Banana, is expanding beyond its original success and making its way to Google Photos. The update will allow users to describe photo edits directly within the app. By tapping “Help me edit” in the photo editor, users can tell Nano Banana what changes they want, and the AI will handle the rest.
Alongside this, Google is introducing a new “Create with AI” section in Google Photos. It includes ready-made AI templates, letting users create edits without writing their own prompts. According to Google, this feature is rolling out this week in the US and India, and the templates are also powered by Nano Banana.
In addition, personalized templates will debut in the US in the coming weeks. These templates will use insights from each user’s photo gallery to craft edits based on their hobbies and experiences, offering a more tailored editing experience.
Meanwhile, Ask Photos, Google’s AI-powered photo search tool, is expanding to over 100 new countries and regions, supporting 17 new languages. However, the feature is still not available in the EU or the UK. The update also brings a new Ask button, allowing users to quickly get answers about a photo’s content.
Finally, Google confirmed that the redesigned photo editor, which includes the ability to describe desired edits, is now rolling out on iOS in the US.
