The governments of Sindh and Punjab have introduced revised school timings for Ramadan 2025, ensuring a supportive learning environment for students and teachers observing fasting while maintaining academic continuity.
In Sindh, the School Education and Literacy Department has set new timings for single and double-shift schools. Single-shift schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Fridays. Double-shift schools will follow a 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM schedule for the first shift and 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM for the second shift, with reduced hours on Fridays.
For double-shift schools, the revised schedule is as follows:
| Days | Timings |
| Monday to Thursday | 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM |
| Friday | 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM |
| Days | First Shift | Second Shift |
| Monday to Thursday | 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM | 11:45 AM – 2:45 PM |
| Friday | 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM | 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM |
All double-shift institutions for secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools will follow a consistent schedule, with the first shift running from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second shift running from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM. On Fridays, first shift students at double-shift colleges must conclude their day by 10:30 a.m., with second shift students finishing by 1:15 p.m.
The Punjab School Education Department has recommended shortening school hours by two hours to accommodate students who are fasting. According to this proposal, the program for girls’ schools runs from 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM, while boys’ schools run from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The revised schedule aims to provide a more accommodating learning environment for students and staff while ensuring educational activities continue smoothly during Ramadan.
