The federal government has slashed petrol and diesel prices sharply after a notable decline in international crude oil rates, delivering major financial relief to millions of consumers.
The government reduced petrol prices by Rs. 74 per litre, bringing the new official price down to Rs. 299 per litre, marking one of the steepest cuts in recent months.
High-speed diesel prices were also cut by Rs. 67 per litre, dropping the price to Rs. 311 per litre, a move expected to ease transportation costs for goods carriers and public transport operators.
Officials say the latest price reduction follows a significant drop in global oil markets, allowing authorities to pass on savings directly to consumers amid ongoing inflationary pressures.
