The Ministry of Finance has clarified that federal government employees will continue to receive house building advances under the new Federal Government Receipts and Payments Rules 2025, ensuring financial support for home construction remains available.
The government periodically revises financial assistance policies for its employees to improve transparency and efficiency in disbursements. The new 2025 rules aim to standardize procedures and simplify payments, ensuring fair access to housing loans across different job grades.
According to the ministry’s notification, officers (Grade 17 and above) can now receive an advance equal to 24 months of their basic salary, while staff members (Grades 1–16) are eligible for up to 36 months of basic pay for house construction or purchase.
The Finance Division stated,
“These advances will be processed strictly under the Federal Government Receipts and Payments Rules 2025 to ensure transparency and accountability.”
Officials added that the revised policy aims to make the process more efficient and accessible while reducing delays in fund release.
The clarification follows confusion among employees after the rollout of the new financial framework earlier this year. The updated rules not only ensure continuity of the House Building Advance Scheme but also align it with modern digital payment systems.
