Govt Launches Travel Help Desks to Guide Passengers Abroad
The Federal Investigation Agency has launched pre-departure facilitation desks across all its zonal offices to support international travelers, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday. The new desks are now fully operational and aim to help passengers navigate immigration rules, documentation, and other travel requirements, reducing delays and confusion at airports.
According to the FIA, these desks have been set up in all eleven zones, including the G/6 office in Islamabad. Travelers can also get guidance through dedicated helplines and email services.
An FIA spokesperson said each desk is staffed with experienced personnel, including assistant directors, inspectors, and sub-inspectors, ready to assist the public.
The teams will provide information on visa documents, travel categories, return ticket requirements, and permissible currency limits. FIA zonal offices are located in major cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, with regional offices in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan. The initiative follows complaints from passengers who faced offloading at airports despite holding valid travel documents.
