The government will distribute the fifth and sixth instalments of its national fuel subsidy scheme within the current month, a high-level government meeting has decided.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting, which reviewed the full implementation progress of the ongoing fuel subsidy scheme.
The meeting assessed the mechanism for delivering fuel subsidies to public transport operators, motorcycle owners, and farmers across the country.
Participants also reviewed transparency, accountability, and coordination with provincial governments as part of the scheme’s overall implementation framework.
Ishaq Dar stated that the initiative aims to provide direct financial relief to ordinary citizens and those engaged in agricultural activities nationwide.
He added that all available resources are being fully utilised to ensure the scheme reaches its intended beneficiaries in a timely manner.
The meeting formally decided that the fifth and sixth subsidy instalments would be distributed to eligible recipients before the end of this month.
Dar expressed satisfaction over the overall progress of the fuel subsidy scheme and its delivery performance recorded throughout the implementation period so far.
