Health Card Facility Approved for Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has directed authorities to immediately launch the Health Card facility across the region, calling it a major public welfare step aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for poor and middle-class families.

Chairing a meeting in Muzaffarabad, the AJK premier said the Health Card scheme would help citizens receive medical treatment without financial burden and strengthen the overall healthcare system in the region. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to ensure affordable and dignified healthcare for all segments of society.

The prime minister instructed concerned departments to accelerate all administrative and technical processes and ensure that Health Card services are launched without delay. “Public relief projects must be implemented on priority, as they directly impact the lives of common people,” he said during the meeting.

Health Card programs have already shown positive results in other parts of Pakistan by reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses and expanding hospital access. The planned rollout in AJK aligns with broader national efforts to strengthen social protection and healthcare coverage.
