The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened registration for the Law Admission Test (LAT) 2026, requiring students seeking admission to four-year LLB programs at recognised universities across Pakistan to take the test.
According to HEC’s Education Testing Council, candidates can register online until October 20, 2026, while the test is tentatively scheduled for November 15, 2026. Students who have completed their HSSC or equivalent 12-year education are eligible, while those awaiting final results can also apply.
The LAT will carry 100 marks, with candidates required to secure at least 50 marks to pass. The test will include English, general knowledge, Islamic studies, Pakistan studies, Urdu and mathematics MCQs, along with an essay and personal statement.
Candidates must complete and formally submit their applications through the HEC ETC portal, as saved or incomplete applications will not be considered. Roll number slips will be available through the portal and sent to registered email addresses before the test.
HEC will conduct the test in major cities across Pakistan. Candidates can select their preferred test centre during registration, but the centre cannot be changed after submission.
