Hot Weather to Hit Pakistan During First 10 Days of Ramadan

Published by

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that most regions of Pakistan will experience hot and dry weather during the opening days of Ramadan. PMD Deputy Director Irfan Virk said there is little to no chance of rainfall during this period, with daytime conditions expected to remain largely dry.

Cities in central and northern Pakistan, such as Lahore and Islamabad, are forecast to see temperatures below 30°C at the start of the month. Southern areas, including parts of Sindh and southern Punjab, could experience temperatures reaching 35°C, making fasting hours more challenging.

A slight chance of rainfall exists in Karachi due to an approaching wave of westerly winds, but meteorologists caution that any showers are unlikely to significantly alter the overall hot and dry trend. Temperatures in Karachi during the first 20 days of Ramadan are expected to stay between 32°C and 34°C.

Authorities have urged the public to take precautions, especially during fasting hours, as temperatures are expected to rise further in the last 10 days of Ramadan.

With Ramadan approaching, Pakistanis are preparing for fasting in varying weather conditions. The PMD regularly issues forecasts to help people plan hydration, clothing, and outdoor activities, particularly in regions prone to higher temperatures. Hot and dry weather in southern Pakistan could make fasting more strenuous compared to cooler northern regions.
