Almost a week and a half after the announcement of its flagship, Huawei today announced that it would be launching its own Virtual Reality (VR) headset as well. This VR headset, the Huawei VR, is the direct competitor of Samsung’s Gear VR.
Similar to the Gear VR, the Huawei VR also needs a smartphone to work. However, the Huawei VR will only support the latest Huawei phones namely the P9, P9 Plus, and the Mate 8. The connection between the smartphone and the headset will be established through a USB cable.
The features of the Huawei VR include a touch panel with control buttons for navigation, a 360 degree sound effect, a 95 degree view-ability angle, and an anti blue light filter for ensuring that your eyes don’t get tired looking at the screen.
Though there is not much information yet available on when the headset will be available, Huawei did announce over 40 games, 4000 movies, and hundreds of images and tours for free with the headset. Currently, there is no word on the official price for the headset from Huawei as well.
Stay tuned for the price and availability of the Huawei VR in Pakistan.
