Hundreds of PhD Holders Among 867,000 Applicants for Teaching Jobs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has received an unprecedented 867,000 applications for 16,454 vacant teaching positions in government schools, highlighting the fierce competition for public sector jobs.

According to official data from the government’s testing agency, 395,000 women and 470,000 men applied for these posts. In response to the growing number of skilled applicants interested in government jobs, 406 PhD graduates have applied for teaching posts.

The recruiting procedure received 7,161 disabled applications, four transgender individuals, 7,196 female applicants, and 470,000 male applicants, suggesting a high level of involvement.

Officials have assured that hiring will be conducted strictly on merit, ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection of candidates for these highly sought-after positions.
