The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed police to recover the missing deputy director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) within three days, following reports that he was abducted earlier this month.

Justice Muhammad Azam Khan issued the order on Monday while hearing a petition filed by Rozina Usman for the recovery of her husband, Muhammad Usman, who was allegedly kidnapped by four armed men on October 14. Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi appeared on behalf of the petitioner during the hearing.

The Islamabad High Court warned that if the police failed to recover the NCCIA deputy director within the given timeframe, both the NCCIA central director and Islamabad’s inspector general would be required to appear in person before the court.

Petitioner Also Reported Missing After Filing Plea

During the proceedings, Advocate Abbasi expressed concern over the safety of the petitioner, stating that she had gone missing as well. “I don’t know where the petitioner is; I fear she may also have been abducted,” he told the court, adding that she had recently informed him about being pressured to withdraw her plea.

Abbasi further revealed that Muhammad Usman had been working on sensitive cases before being taken away in a white Corolla with a fake number plate. He urged the court to summon the NCCIA director and the Islamabad police chief to explain the developments.

Justice Khan called the matter “extremely serious,” questioning how a suspicious vehicle could move freely through Islamabad despite the city’s checkpoints and surveillance system. He also ordered that the calls made to intimidate the petitioner be traced through call data records.
