Pakistan’s industrial sector received a total relief of Rs. 12.125 billion under the government-backed discounted electricity package over December 2025 and January 2026. The initiative supports both small and large-scale industries by lowering production costs through cheaper electricity.
| Month | Units Consumed (Million) | Consumers Benefited | Savings (Rs. Billion) | Share of Industrial Consumption |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| December 2025 | 557 | 125,829 | 5.743 | 23% |
| January 2026 | 619 | 127,686 | 6.382 | 24.5% |
| Total | 1,176 | 127,686 | 12.125 | 23.8% |
The package is part of a three-year initiative to support industrial development through affordable electricity. The Power Division stated that the federal minister is monitoring implementation closely to ensure continuous support for industries.
Officials highlighted that this effort is intended to stimulate industrial activity while providing cost relief to nearly half of the industrial sector’s consumers.
