Infinix & VGO TEL Dominate Pakistan’s Local Mobile Assembly Market in 2025

Pakistan’s locally assembled mobile phone market is witnessing intense competition. According to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Infinix and VGO TEL have emerged as the clear market leaders over the last three years.

Industry analysts attribute this trend to a massive shift toward budget-friendly devices. Consumers are prioritising affordability amid continuing economic pressure. Consequently, the battle for market leadership remains fierce as we close out 2025.

2025: Infinix Retains the Crown

The momentum from previous years continued into 2025. Although overall volumes showed signs of stabilisation, Infinix successfully defended its top spot.

Between January and November 2025, Infinix assembled 3.47 million units, leading the pack. VGO TEL held strong in second place with 3.07 million units, while vivo secured the third spot with 2.57 million units.

Other notable performers included itel, which crossed the 2.20 million mark, and Samsung, which remained competitive in the mid-tier segment. However, OPPO lagged behind, falling into the tenth spot with just 0.92 million units.

A Look Back: The Surge of 2024

The market expanded sharply in 2024. Rising local assembly capabilities and the demand for affordable smartphones drove this growth. Infinix surged ahead during this period, recording the highest assembly numbers among all brands with 3.98 million units.

itel followed closely with 3.64 million units, while VGO TEL secured 3.37 million units. Interestingly, legacy names also made a comeback as Nokia returned to the top ten list in 2024 with 1.36 million assembled units.

2023 vs. 2025: A Shift in Leadership

The landscape has shifted significantly since 2023. That year, VGO TEL narrowly topped the charts with 2.73 million units, beating Infinix by a small margin. Smaller players like Club Mobile and X Mobile also held a presence then but have faced stiffer competition since.

Today, the data highlights a consolidated market where top players like Infinix, VGO TEL, and vivo are strengthening their positions. With local manufacturing capacity expanding, the race for dominance in Pakistan’s mobile sector is far from over.
