Star fast bowler Naseem Shah has reportedly been ruled out indefinitely following a side injury sustained during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match against Karachi Kings.
Media reports state that Naseem, who is representing Rawalpindiz this season, is under close medical observation as staff monitor his recovery to determine a return timeline.
The participation of the right-arm pacer in the final stages of the tournament remains possible, but his comeback will depend entirely on medical clearance and fitness assessments.
It is worth noting that the Dir-born fast bowler was sold to the newly added franchise Rawalpindiz for Rs86.5 million, the highest bid of the first-ever PSL auction.
The Mohammad Rizwan-led Rawalpindiz are currently in seventh place on the PSL points table, having lost all three of their games, just ahead of Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Rawalpindiz lost their opening game against Peshawar Zalmi when the Babar Azam-led side chased a record-breaking total at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Rawalpindiz then lost to Karachi Kings by five wickets when the David Warner-led side chased 199 runs, before losing to Islamabad United yesterday.
Naseem Shah missed the third game against Islamabad United, where the three-time champions defeated Rawalpindiz by seven wickets.
The right-arm pacer has not been impressive with the ball, having taken two wickets in two games at an average of 77.0
