Islamabad authorities have begun enforcing a “No M-Tag, No Entry” policy across the capital, with January 15, 2026, set as the final deadline for vehicle owners to comply. The announcement was shared by DG Excise Islamabad, confirming that vehicles without an M-Tag will no longer be allowed entry once enforcement begins.
To facilitate motorists ahead of the deadline, the Excise Department has ensured extended operating hours at key M-Tag registration points. Two M-Tag centers, 26 No. Chungi and 17 Mile (Phagran) Toll Plaza will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to manage the expected rush.
Meanwhile, registration counters at Kachnar Park and Sector F-9 Park will remain operational until midnight.
Officials have urged vehicle owners to complete registration before the deadline to avoid inconvenience. The policy is part of broader efforts to regulate traffic flow and improve toll and vehicle monitoring systems in and around the federal capital.
Motorists have been advised to visit designated centers well in advance to avoid last-minute congestion.
