The government has introduced a major relief measure aimed at everyday commuters, especially motorcycle owners in Islamabad. In a move to improve access to subsidies and simplify ownership processes, officials have linked motorcycle registration directly to eligibility for the petrol subsidy. This step ensures that financial support reaches the right individuals without delays.
At the same time, authorities have removed the motorcycle transfer fee in Islamabad. This decision makes it easier for citizens to transfer ownership without extra financial burden. Now, individuals can transfer their motorcycles in their name without paying any fee at the Islamabad Excise Office. According to DG Excise, this change will encourage more people to update ownership records properly.
Moreover, the Excise Department has taken practical steps to improve public service. To handle increased demand, additional counters have been set up for motorcycle transfers. As a result, citizens can complete their paperwork more quickly and avoid long waiting times.
In addition, the department has extended its working hours. The Excise Department office will now remain open 24 hours, as confirmed by Irfan Memon. This round-the-clock service aims to provide greater convenience, especially for people with busy schedules.
