Islamabad hosted one of the country’s most significant cybersecurity gatherings of the year on Wednesday, as national and international experts convened at Serena Hotel for the Cyber Security Conference 2025. Organized by EPL in collaboration with NADRA Technologies Limited, the full-day summit brought together senior officials, CEOs, CISOs, technologists, diplomats, law-enforcement leaders and policymakers to assess Pakistan’s growing digital vulnerabilities and chart a path toward a secure technological future.
With the theme “Securing Pakistan’s Digital Future From Infrastructure to Individuals,” the conference focused on Pakistan’s critical cybersecurity challenges, policy gaps, infrastructure weaknesses and national readiness. Participants highlighted the sharp rise in cyberattacks, gaps in data protection, risks to financial systems, and the need for updated laws and coordinated response mechanisms.
The event opened with a keynote stressing cybersecurity as a national priority, emphasizing that Pakistan’s digital transformation cannot succeed without resilient defenses. Throughout the day, comprehensive panel discussions and keynote sessions explored multiple dimensions of Pakistan’s cyber landscape.
A high-level discussion titled “Pakistan’s Critical Infrastructure Under Threat” featured experts from the banking, telecom and government sectors, warning that cyber intrusions targeting energy grids, telecom networks and financial platforms are becoming a national risk. Another session, “Corporate Threat Landscape 2025,” addressed the surge in ransomware, phishing and supply-chain attacks across industries.
In one of the conference’s most widely discussed segments, NIFT CEO Javed Edhi delivered a live incident response walkthrough, detailing how a real cyberattack unfolds inside an organization. A fireside chat with EPL CEO Ghazanfar Ali Khan examined the corporate leadership perspective on digital risk, while other panels explored AI-driven cyber threats, data privacy shortcomings, national cyber preparedness, and CISO-level defense strategies.
The conference concluded with a unified call for stronger public and private sector collaboration, improved legislation, enhanced cyber resilience and a long-term national strategy. EPL reaffirmed its vision to build secure, innovative and inclusive technology ecosystems, emphasizing that Pakistan’s digital future depends on moving from awareness to decisive action.
