Islamabad IT Park Gets New Deadline: 98% Structure Ready
The long-awaited Islamabad IT Park is entering its final lap. During a recent meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology, key officials revealed that the project is moving at an accelerated pace. According to the Project Director, work is currently in full swing, and the contractor has significantly increased the labour force to meet approaching targets.
The numbers look promising. The Project Director, Mr. Amir Ahmad, confirmed that 98% of the park’s structure is now complete. Shaza Fatima, weighing in on the development, highlighted that the project has reached 80% overall completion.
She further noted a massive spike in productivity, stating that 60% of this work was completed within just the last year. This acceleration aligns with the high-level attention the project is receiving. Shaza Fatima revealed that the Prime Minister inquires about the IT Park’s status on a daily basis.
With the structure nearly finished, the focus has shifted to the final delivery date. The Project Director aims to complete the IT Park by January 2026. However, the committee is leaving no room for delays. Officials from the Ministry of IT provided a briefing earlier in which they reported that construction of the Islamabad IT Park is in its final stages. Work on the project, which began in 2017, is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025. But that does not seem to be the case anymore.
The Committee Chairman issued a strict directive to complete the Islamabad IT Park by February 28 at all costs. With the deadline just around the corner, the race to finalise this tech landmark has officially begun.
