Islamabad Inspector General of Police has terminated the contracts of all 29 contract employees serving in the police force and other departments, and a formal notification has been issued.
According to sources, the affected staff include former police officers who had been serving in different positions on a contract basis. Ten of them are identified by rank or role: three law officers, four former SSPs and three former DSPs.
The IT Department is also affected. Sources said the contracts of the director and the software engineer, both appointed on contract, have been ended.
Sources added that, following the decision from the chief, steps are now being taken regarding the future of other contract-based personnel in various departments.
