Islamabad United have signed top-order batter Mohammad Faiq ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, strengthening their squad before the competition begins.
The three-times champions confirmed the addition of the right-handed batter through its official social media channels, announcing his return to the squad ahead of the new season.
It is worth noting that the 28-year-old batter was also part of Islamabad United last season but did not feature in any matches during the campaign.
The batter arrives this time with strong domestic T20 credentials that could strengthen the top-order batting options for the United.
In domestic T20 cricket, Faiq has scored 443 runs in 12 matches, maintaining an impressive average of 63.28 and a strike rate of 189.31.
His performances include two centuries and two half-centuries, highlighting his ability to produce big innings and score quickly in the shortest format of the game.
The eleventh season will begin on March 26 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore after the grand opening ceremony. Lahore Qalandars will take on Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen in the first game.
