Nexgen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, has officially disrupted the local automotive landscape by announcing the introductory prices and comprehensive specifications for the much-anticipated Jaecoo J5 SHS HEV.
Following the successful entry of its predecessor, the J7, the Jaecoo J5 enters the sub-compact hybrid SUV segment with a locally assembled unit, promising premium technology at a price point aimed squarely at the heart of the market.
In a move that caught many industry analysts by surprise, the J5 has been positioned aggressively. Nexgen Auto confirmed that the introductory ex-factory prices (fully inclusive of taxes, including the NEV levy) are as follows:

These figures are valid until March 10, 2026. Notably, the base variant’s price matches that of a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 CVT, signaling Jaecoo’s intent to offer a hybrid SUV alternative at a sedan-level price point.
Under the hood, both variants share a powerful 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid powertrain. The system delivers an impressive 221 horsepower and 295 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
Equipped with a 1.83 kWh hybrid battery, the J5 boasts a claimed fuel economy of 18.8 km/l, making it one of the most efficient options for urban commuters and long-distance drivers alike.
The J5 measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase. This footprint positions it as a direct competitor to the Honda HR-V e: HEV and Toyota Corolla Cross.
The exterior is defined by its “waterfall” front grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features a minimalist “nature-inspired” design, highlighted by a massive 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital cluster, and an eight-speaker premium audio setup.
