Jazz has officially become the first mobile operator in Pakistan to upgrade 1,000 sites to 5G. This achievement marks a major milestone for the country’s accelerated 5G rollout. Initially, the operator launched its 5G services with only 180 sites. Now, the network covers 10 major cities and urban centers. Furthermore, this rapid expansion falls under the company’s broader network modernization program.
Jazz Supports 5G Sites With Massive Spectrum Upgrades
To support this rapid growth, Jazz significantly strengthened its spectrum position. Earlier this year, Pakistan held a new spectrum auction. Consequently, Jazz successfully added 190 MHz to its holdings. This massive acquisition increased the operator’s total spectrum from 94.4 MHz to 284.4 MHz. Therefore, Jazz nearly tripled its previous spectrum capacity overnight.

Looking Ahead to 2,500 Sites
Pakistan is undergoing an accelerated transition toward 5G services following the recent spectrum auction. Meanwhile, Jazz plans to keep its momentum going.
The operator expects to continue expanding its footprint rapidly. Moving forward, Jazz aims to activate 2,500 live 5G sites by the end of 2026.
