ISLAMABAD: JazzCash and Mobilink Bank have been named finalists for the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards 2025. The awards, which recognize achievements in mobile and digital innovation, will be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.
JazzCash has been shortlisted in the Best Fintech Innovation category for its Tap Pay for Business feature. This solution allows over 360,000 merchants and businesses to accept payments from contactless cards or smartphones using an NFC-enabled Android device. The service, developed in collaboration with Mastercard, also enables JazzCash wallets to make direct tap payments using any contactless device.
Mobilink Bank’s Invisible Heirs campaign has been nominated in the CMO Marketing Campaign category. The campaign raises awareness about women’s inheritance rights and provides practical tools, such as Pakistan’s first digital inheritance calculator, through the Mobilink Bank app. The initiative aims to help women understand and secure their legal entitlements.
The nominations follow previous international recognition for both companies. Mobilink Bank’s Invisible Heirs campaign won the Digital Nations Video Creativity Award at GSMA’s M360 Asia-Pacific in 2024, while JazzCash was awarded the Pioneering Telco to Launch Tap on Phone recognition by Mastercard the same year. JazzCash also won a GSMA GLOMO Award in 2017 for its work in promoting financial inclusion in emerging markets.
Mobilink Bank and JazzCash are part of the VEON Group, a global digital operator serving nearly 160 million customers across six markets.
