The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has unveiled a comprehensive expansion plan for Jinnah International Airport, allocating Rs. 100 billion to modernize and expand the facility to meet rising passenger demand and future capacity requirements.
The ambitious project will expand both the international and domestic terminals and also see the construction of a new terminal building as part of the large-scale upgrade. Designed with a 50-year outlook, the plan considers future growth in passenger traffic, cargo operations, and business activity.
The expansion will also feature a modern cargo village and an international-standard cargo section, aimed at boosting the airport’s operational efficiency and capacity. Additional facilities are planned to support passengers and cargo operators alike.
Sources say the PAA administration has already accelerated work on the project, marking a significant step toward transforming the country’s busiest airport into a state-of-the-art hub.
