Karachi’s administration has launched a new traffic safety initiative by introducing a dedicated lane for heavy vehicles, aiming to reduce accidents and streamline goods transport. Officials have set a strict speed limit of 30 km/h for heavy vehicles and emphasized strict compliance to prevent further road mishaps.
The move comes after a noticeable increase in traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles across the city. During a high-level meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, authorities discussed solutions to traffic congestion, parking shortages, and regulatory compliance for goods transporters.

“Strict measures will be taken to prevent accidents and improve transport safety while considering the concerns of transporters,” said Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi.
