The Sindh government has directed authorities to accelerate construction of the Karachi Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and continue work around the clock to ensure its timely completion.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon issued the directions during a review meeting, stressing that the Yellow Line is an important part of Karachi’s public transport system and should be completed as soon as possible to provide commuters with modern travel facilities.
Officials briefed the meeting on ongoing construction, major project sections and different construction packages. Sharjeel directed departments and contractors to coordinate closely and adopt a unified strategy to speed up work.
He also ordered authorities to expedite construction of the second section of the Taj Haider Bridge and prioritise the project’s depots. He stressed that faster construction should not compromise quality and called for regular monitoring of all project components.
The minister said the Yellow Line is part of the Sindh government’s broader plan to develop a modern and integrated mass transit system in Karachi as the city’s population and transportation needs continue to grow.
