Kaspersky has introduced a free online course to help everyday internet users strengthen their basic cybersecurity skills. The “Cyberhygiene” course focuses on safe digital habits and is open to people of all ages and professions.
The program aims to build awareness about online threats that millions face daily. According to Kaspersky, users now spend nearly seven hours online every day, often sharing personal information and falling victim to scams. In 2024 alone, the company detected 4.9 billion cyberattacks worldwide, highlighting the growing need for digital safety education.
The course offers 15 short video lessons, each lasting around 15 to 20 minutes. Kaspersky experts explain how to protect personal data, use social media safely, recognize phishing attempts, and make secure online purchases. One dedicated lesson also focuses on protecting children from online risks.
Participants can study at their own pace and receive summaries and practical tips after each lesson. A final test is available for those who want a completion certificate. The course requires no prior technical background, making it accessible to beginners.
Evgeniya Russkikh, Head of Academic Affairs at Kaspersky, said the program was created to bridge the gap between fast digital growth and users’ cybersecurity awareness. She noted that both older and younger users remain vulnerable to online fraud, and this initiative helps empower them with essential protection skills.
The Cyberhygiene course is available for free on the Kaspersky Academy website, with no registration required.
