Kia Pakistan Denies Price Drop for Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD Variant

A fabricated price list suggesting a steep drop in the cost of the Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD has been making the rounds on social media, prompting a quick rebuttal from Kia Pakistan. The automaker clarified that it has not announced any such price reduction and labeled the circulating document as false.
Styled to look like an official press release, the fake document falsely claims that the price of the Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD has been reduced by Rs1 million—dropping from Rs11,825,000 to Rs10,825,000—effective April 18, 2025. In response, Kia Pakistan stamped the document with a bold “FAKE” watermark and urged the public not to believe or share the misleading content.
The same document also included other pricing claims, such as an unchanged rate of Rs9,499,000 for the Sportage L 2.0L Alpha and a supposed price reduction for the Sportage L 1.6L GDI HEV, from Rs12,850,000 to Rs11,900,000. However, Kia Pakistan has refuted these claims and reiterated that any authentic pricing changes will be communicated through its official website or authorized dealerships only.
While the origin of the fake press release remains unknown, the company emphasized the importance of verifying all pricing information through credible and official sources. With the Kia Sportage L 2.0L FWD being one of the brand’s most popular SUVs, the spread of such false information has the potential to mislead a large number of consumers.
