The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Higher Education has imposed strict new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs for all cultural, sports, welcome, and farewell events in women’s colleges, making prior approval mandatory and banning music, dance, and social media sharing to ensure discipline, safety, and cultural compliance.
According to the official notification issued on February 2, 2026, all girls’ colleges across KP must now seek written permission from the Director or concerned Regional Director of Higher Education before organizing any on-campus event. The directive applies to welcome and farewell functions, sports galas, and cultural programs.
College administrations are also required to submit a complete list of participants and invited guests in advance. Authorities have made it clear that no event will be allowed without formal approval.
Under the new rules, activities such as music, dance, modeling, or similar performances have been strictly banned. Students must wear their official college uniforms during all events, while the use of mobile phones is prohibited during college hours and functions.
The SOPs also bar the recording or sharing of videos and photographs on social media platforms, citing concerns over student privacy and misuse of content.
The Directorate emphasized that all college events must align with “social and cultural values” and assured that enhanced security arrangements will be enforced during approved programs.
An official source stated,
“These measures are aimed at maintaining discipline, protecting students’ privacy, and ensuring a safe academic environment in women’s colleges.”
The notification warns that principals or institutions failing to comply with the SOPs will face strict disciplinary action, signaling zero tolerance for violations.
The move comes amid broader efforts by provincial authorities to regulate campus activities and address growing concerns around unauthorized events and social media exposure in educational institutions.
