The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a plan to provide free electric scooties to female students and working women, starting with Peshawar before expanding to other districts.
The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who directed officials to take immediate steps to ensure the scooties reach beneficiaries without delay.
Officials briefed the chief minister that the first phase of the initiative would cover female students and working women in Peshawar, after which the project would be extended to the rest of the province.
Sohail Afridi said the scooties would give women safer and easier access to education and employment while also helping reduce air pollution.
The Chief Minister further added that the free electric scooty scheme was designed to promote the economic independence of the women across the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. .
