The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has initiated the procurement of two B7-level armored vehicles for judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), with each vehicle expected to cost between Rs. 150 million and Rs. 200 million. The move follows prior approval by the provincial cabinet and aims to strengthen judicial security amid rising threats in sensitive areas.
According to official tender documents uploaded on the Peshawar High Court’s website, bids have been invited for two fully armored vehicles, with the submission deadline set for February 4, 2026. The vehicles will become part of the High Court’s official vehicle pool. As per existing rules, High Court judges are entitled to two official vehicles, though standard regulations cap engine capacity at 1,800cc.
The PHC Public Relations Officer confirmed that the new armored vehicles will be used strictly for official duties, including court appearances and visits to high-risk or sensitive districts. He added that once the new vehicles are inducted, the older vehicles currently in use will be returned to the government, ensuring compliance with official fleet rules.
B7-level ballistic protection represents the highest civilian security standard, capable of resisting armor-piercing ammunition, grenade blasts, and underbody explosions. While a standard 2026 model vehicle costs around Rs. 120 million, the price rises sharply after advanced B7 armoring, reflecting the level of protection required for judicial officials facing elevated security risks.
