The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) education in all public schools, becoming the first province in Pakistan to take this transformative step toward a digitally advanced education system.
The decision was finalized in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, where officials emphasized preparing students for a rapidly evolving digital future. Under this initiative, the National Artificial Intelligence Course will be introduced for students from Grade 6 onward across all government schools.
“Artificial Intelligence education will enable our youth to compete globally and meet the demands of emerging industries,” said Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, calling it a “revolutionary reform” in education.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Department has been tasked with ensuring trained teachers, modern resources, and the necessary infrastructure for smooth implementation. Experts believe the move will position KP as a national leader in technology-driven education, bridging the digital divide and empowering students with critical coding, data, and innovation skills.
