Lahore Implements Seat Belt Rule for Front Passengers, Fines for Non-Compliance
LAHORE: The City Traffic Police Lahore introduced a rule that ensures all passengers, even those in the front seat, are required to wear seat belts. Violators will be fined.
Law enforcement officials have emphasised once again how crucial it is for drivers and front-seat passengers to wear seat belts in order to prevent serious injuries in the case of an unexpected collision.
The Lahore Traffic Police Facebook page has a video of an officer threatening a fine to the passenger in the back seat who is seen without wearing his seat belt.
He further stated that in case of a violation, the fine will be imposed on the passenger rather than the driver.
Currently, in Lahore, the penalty for not wearing a seat belt while driving is set at 750 rupees.
