Lahore Qalandars have signed South African wicketkeeper-batter Rubin Hermann as a direct signing ahead of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The franchise confirmed the signing through its official social media accounts, announcing the arrival of the left-handed batter with a brief message welcoming him to the side.
The upcoming PSL edition is scheduled to run from 26 March to 3 May, and franchises are reshaping their combinations for what is being described as a defining season.
The inclusion of Hermann provides Lahore with a versatile middle-order option and adds depth to their batting resources as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign.
The 29-year-old has represented South Africa in seven Twenty20 Internationals, scoring 153 runs at a strike rate of 131.89 and registering one half-century.
In domestic and franchise T20 cricket, he has played 65 matches and scored 1,497 runs at a strike rate of 127.83, including eight half-centuries and one century.
Hermann has also featured for Paarl Royals in two seasons of the SA20 competition, gaining valuable league experience in South Africa’s premier T20 tournament.
Across 21 matches in SA20, he scored 559 runs at a strike rate of 119.70, striking four half-centuries and often anchoring the innings in difficult situations.
For Lahore Qalandars, the signing strengthens their wicketkeeping department, where Haseebullah Khan had been the only specialist glovesman in the squad before Hermann’s arrival.
